Austria's progressive rockers Mother's Cake will make their first visit to Australia this February showcasing tracks from their debut record Creation's Finest, including the single 'Soul Prison', featuring Ikey Owens from The Mars Volta on keyboards.
Founded in 2008, Mother's Cake have been taking the European live circuit by storm, recently supporting the likes of Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Velvet Revolver, Living Colour, LeTigre, The Deftones & Omar Rodriguez Band. Mother's Cake's music also featured in director Henning Backhaus' (a student of Michael Haneke) film 'Local Heroes', which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012.
Delivering a complex netting of rhythm and harmonic possibilities inspired by legends like The Mars Volta, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, Mother's Cake's debut album, Creation's Finest, is due for Australian release in February 2014 via Inaway Records.
